Tillandsias polystachia belongs to the bromeliad family of plants.
It's prominent red leaves stands out among the crowd, dotted with green nearer the base.
They thrive with little water and is semi sun and shade position.
Occasionally, purple and white blossoms appear at the centre, the jewels of the crown.
